bathroom before & after

bathroom before 1The master bathroom of Marcie and Shane Brenner, in its original state, featured a dated floor and awkward positioning of bathroom fixtures. While the claw-foot tub provided an interesting vintage element, its uniqueness was lost in the hodge-podge of patterns. Angie's challenge was to stay true to the age of the home - keep the classic elements, remove the dated ones, and rearrange the bathroom so that the flow made sense and felt natural. Even with the light blue wall color, the bathroom felt dark and uninviting. The glass blocks and high contrast shower tiling are examples of the disparate styles represented in the bathroom. This renovation required moving some walls and completely relocating the tub, toilet, and sink.

After Angie's RenovationAngie decided to keep the theme of the fresh blue, but combined with her other changes, the wall color seems completely transformed. The vintage tub was moved to take advantage of the natural light from the unique window and to highlight both features of the renovated bathroom.

A beautiful chandelier was placed above the claw-foot to add a touch of glamour and elegance to the space. The new flooring blends with the decor throughout the rest of the home and gives the space that coveted spa look and feel.

After the old shower glass blocks and tile were completely removed, a modern shower with custom tiles and fixtures was installed.

A new two sink vanity was installed that gives the room a visual anchor as well as provides some much needed storage. A small cabinet in the same wood was also added to balance out the dark wood tones and spread the richness of the color throughout the bathroom.

The bathroom shines with thoughtful touches such as the simplified wainscoting, the spark of color the flowers bring, and the simple elegance of the sconces.
